Happy Days Ahead!



One year ago today started my journey as a novelist. My debut novel was "Dreamlight," a Fantasy story with Faith ( I will warn that it is not for the faint of heart). It was this book that the Lord used to bolster my confidence in my ability and to push me (kicking and screaming mind you) into the new life that He had in store for me. I am so grateful for all of your support over this past whirlwind year. Now, with 5 books and 2 magazines completed and 3 books and 2 magazines coming soon, I look to the future that God has provided for with excitement and determination.

Back by popular demand, the Best Bookstagram Contest is starting a fresh submission period starting April 1st and ending April 30th. With the extra time given to us by the lack of a Summer Edition this year, we can spread the contests from now until Autumn arrives. If I am being honest, things in my personal life lately have been pretty stressful. People I love were having major surgery, friends of mine are hurting, my kiddos were sick, and in the last week, 3 women close to me have either had a baby, are actively having a baby, or are trying to save their pregnancy. I don't know how you deal with stress, but even though I am worlds better at it than I once was, I am not great at it. Others' pain and hardship weigh on me as if it were my own. Realm Makers Conference

I missed you guys last week! The conference took all of my focus and energy. I went. I saw. I talked and talked and talked and talked...you get the idea. Being an extrovert wading in a sea of introverts, I must admit to being rather intimidated. Not that I don't know how to talk to introverted individuals (my husband is a super introvert after all), but it usually takes some time for people to warm up to my rather boisterous personality. I tried to curb my enthusiasm so as not to frighten people away and waste what little time I had with each person. I focused on making every interaction count by both being myself (not some sort of marketing robot) and offering what I could to help/support their business. If you missed it, being an author is a small business and if you know me you know that I LOVE supporting small businesses. And there I was, SURROUNDED by small businesses that I could help. I am pleased to say that the Book Cosplay Contest is in full swing, but of course we could always use more entrants (You have until July 31, 2021)!
